Kissed Opportunity

Looking through last week's Target ad,
I noticed that Prince released a greatest hits CD and titled it
Ultimate

Fine,
But if you ask the crew at Assailable Cool,
I'm afraid that His Purpleness has missed a great opportunity.

If we were Prince, and we released a greatest hit CD,
we would have called it:

Ultra Violet

All assail!

Comments:
3121 is no 1999...
I can't comment on "Ultimate" (or Ultra Violet for that matter), but what I can say is that it was pointed out to me his newest cd, 3121, is very typical of his new music. New music=music since he found God.
Also noted was that back before Prince found God,when sex was his inspiration, his music had a lot more funk and passion. Which I agree with.
He created better music when when sex was his inspiration. I wonder what Creed would think about that.

Well, the lead singer of Creed just had a sex video released of himself and Kid and Kid Rock teaming up on some groupies....

WWJD???

Creed used religion as a gimmick.

I always throught they were posers for other reasons, though... Rock posers, not religious posers.

Thanks for your posts,
Anonymoids!

I have also heard the middlin' reviews of 3121. EW gave it a C. You're right that he seemed to have more passion when his passion wasn't The Passion, but that could also be a relic of youth. Maybe a teamup with Lil' John would put some spice back in his diminuative groove.

As for the Scott Stapp thing, how many "stars" have had this sex tape thing raise their Q rating. Paris, Tommy Lee, I know there's others...

I, of course, haven't seen the tapes, but I originally wondered why a star would risk the negatives. But then I realized, none of them really have gotten any negatives from this. They've all become more popular, better known, and have taken huge leaps in their careers. Honestly, though I'd recognize Stapp's giant chin anywhere, before a couple of weeks ago, I'd have not been able to tell you what name was of the lead singer of Creed.

And for the record, just before Creed broke up, Stapp said that they never claimed to be a Christian band. So... Even though they sold tons of records on holy imagery in their videos, sang songs of redemption and praise of fatherhood, and were freakin' called CREED, they weren't supposedly a christian band.

To me, the tape just seems like another step for Stapp in creating a new image for himself.

Posers, oh yeah. Cool point to you, Anonymous. We'll see what pose he takes next.

(Note: if you want your Cool Point to count, Anon, please ID yourself!)

Again, thanks for the awesome posts.

So based on what I have read here, I am totally expecting a Creed reunion and some really kick-ass, fresh music to come of it...afterall, what else can one expect after a night of passion w/ Kid Rock and groupies?

Welcome back, anonymous!

I agree that this may be one possible outcome. But more likely, Stapp is setting himself up for solo flight. His vid-step wouldn't help out a band's image very much. But it would 1) stroke his ego (no pun intended...)
and
2) Up his own visibility.

Sounds like solo time to me. What I want to know is: Do these people happen to share the same publicists?
Wouldn't it be great if they all had the same person working for them. Like maybe the video thing is their own trademarked route to fame.

Thanks for the assail.

Oh, by the way, I heard one of the groupies was going to sue Scott. She apparently caught a Stapp infection.

Okay, I didn't hear that. But now you have...
