The Return of VidKid!

There are very few things that I lament daily.

But one of the most consistently painful thoughts that cross my mind almost every single day is missing those great days of watching free music videos on iTunes. They were super-high quality, they were a great mix of genre, and they loaded so fast! I lost many minutes many mornings trying to find one more cool vid before heading off to work.

This service was how I fell in love with Regina Spektor, and became convinced to add the Kings of Convenience to my will.

I was working on another post, and realized that there has to be somewhere else that I can go to see videos on the web. Someplace besides YouTube. Blecch. Someplace that at least tried to live up to iTunes.

I think I found it. Searching for Kings of Convenience's "I'd Rather Dance," I stumbled my way into iFilm. I watched my favorite video of all time (Yes! I even like it more than Peter Gabriel's 'Big Time!'), and noticed that it was suggesting I go watch Regina Spektor. Hmmm, I said, I think it knows me...

In Quick succession, I watched vids for Regina's 'Fidelity' (one of my favorite songs of 2006), and saw her video for 'Sampson,' too. Then, I revisited 'Us' for old times sake. Still nice!

I watches a few others, including ones from the Postal Service and the Decemberists. There's even this one from the Plain White T's that apparently stars the band...and some girl's butt. A butt that's been viewed over 100,000 times. Impressive.

All I'm saying is, looks like I'm gonna be busy in the mornings again.

Please let me know if you've got some suggestions for videos I should be seeing...

All Assail!
